There is currently no data collection legislation or regulations in Washington, D.C. In March of 2001, Police Chief Ramsey pledged to collect data on all traffic stops in response to racist emails unearthed with the department. However, traffic stop data is not collected in the jurisdiction at this time. On June 13, 2001, Washington, D.C. reached an agreement with the Department of Justice concerning its use of force policies, documentation of use of force procedures, and supervisory review of police conduct, misconduct allegations, and training policies within the jurisdiction.
