MONTANA
Montana enacted a bill in 2003 which defines and prohibits racial profiling and requires law enforcement agencies to adopt policies against racial profiling. This bill does not require jurisdictions to collect data. A bill which would have required the Montana Highway Patrol, all Sheriff’s Offices and police departments to collect and report data on routine traffic stops failed in 2001.
