Vermont is currently not collecting data. A bill is pending and in committee to research the issue of racial profiling by conducting town meetings in various regions of the state. The Task Force will then report to the assembly their findings and whether or not racial profiling is an issue in the state.

Other Information: Proposes to create a task force to examine the issue of racial profiling, the disparate treatment of any person on the basis of race or ethnicity by any law enforcement officer acting in an official capacity. The task force will hold town meetings in various regions of the state and report to the assembly whether or not racial profiling is a problem in the state.
